STRENGTHENING COMMUNITY IS OUR CAUSE
The La Porte County Family YMCA is a leading nonprofit for youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. We are a powerful association of men, woman and children of all ages and from all walks of life joined together by a shared passion: to strengthen the foundations of our community.
With a commitment to nurturing the potential of kids, promoting healthy living and fostering a sense of social responsibility. Our Y ensures that everyone, regardless of age, income or background, has the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive. To do our important work, our Y relies on support from members, donors, volunteers and community leaders.
Our Y believes that lasting personal and social change can only come about when we all work together to invest in our kids, our health and our community. Every day our impact is felt when a mentor inspires a child, when an individual makes a healthy choice and when the community comes together for the common good.
Our Y is, and always will be, dedicated to building healthy, confident, connected and secure children, adults, families and communities. There is no other nonprofit quite like the Y. Be a part of a cause committed to moving people and communities forward.

Michigan City Elston Branch Pool Update: 3.17.17
Attention Y Members:
Thank you for your patience and support related to our Michigan City Elston Branch pool. We are continuing to work closely with Michigan City Area Schools to have the pool back up and running as soon as possible.
Our general contractor for this project advised yesterday that fabrication of the materials needed to finish this project has now been completed. These materials will be shipped to the job site starting on Monday, March 20th. Our contractor’s crews will be onsite to unload and stage the materials in and around the pool. The welder responsible for installation will also visit the site next week to ensure everything is ready to go.
Beginning Monday, March 27th, our general contractor will begin staffing this project with double its typical number of employees in an effort to move it forward toward completion as quickly as possible. We will continue to provide you with additional information regarding the status of this project as we receive it.
In the meantime, we encourage all of our members to take advantage of our La Porte pool. We also have some great land-based group exercise classes going on at our Michigan City Elston Branch including Zumba, Pilates + and Drum Fitness.
